Thirunakkara Mahadeva Temple

The Thirunakkara Mahadeva Temple , in Kottayam town , was built in the 16th century by Thekkumkoor Raja . The temple is about 500 years old . The Koothambalam here is one of the best in the state and the temple has also a wealth of paintings on its walls . The temple is about 500 years old .

The main festival of the temple is ‘Phalguna Utsavam’ which is celebrated during March .
